Saint Barnabas Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, celebrated the grand opening of a human milk depot in partnership with Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast. This marked the first New Jersey milk bank for Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast. Carefully screened mothers who are nursing can donate their breast milk to Saint Barnabas Medical Center for the milk to be pasteurized and lab-tested for safety and then distributed to babies in all of Saint Barnabas Medical Center’s nurseries, including the NICU, for when a mother is unable to breastfeed or needs supplementation.

To celebrate the grand opening of the milk depot and the expansion of the breast milk program, Saint Barnabas Medical Center held a ribbon cutting event.
